This is for LtBawb's bike. He has oil seeping, seems mostly to be the rear cylinder, at the base. I'm debating whether to try and get it done in a day or two or have him go to the dealer.
If it was mine there would be no question. Although if it was mine I would wait until I was ready to do more (cylinders-heads etc).
My thoughts are to just pull the heads and pop the pins out, leaving the pistons in the jugs. He only has about 15-16K and no oil issues.
The book shows a special tool to just get the cir clips out, and another if the pin doesn't slide out.
And a Snap-On dog bone for torquing the rocker supports and the special wrenches (although they don't look so special).
And the plate to rest the piston on - that looks like something I could make with a piece of wood or some of that slick marine Starboard I have.
Don did you give up doing it yourself - or just if you didn't have help?
