2010 locking trunk and bags
« on: April 03, 2010, 10:50:11 AM »

I am very disappointed in the range of the remote fob for locking the bags.  I have to hold it right over the front seat to make sure it works.  One step away and it dose not work.  This is the same for both fobs, and the bike was that way when received.  Is this the same on all the CVO Ultras, or is there something wrong with mine?

I would have that checked...  Mine works from approximately 6' away.

Mine does not work at all since I put that huge ugly arse key in my dresser drawer and got a "normal" key made. If the stupid thing only works from a very short distance, I fail to see the advantage of carrying that thing in your pocket and having to replace batteries. It sure is just as easy to push the lock and unlock button on the dash.

Question?

Is there a way to add the auto 'locks' to a SG?

Thanks

Could just roll your own.  It was a lot cheaper than the Harley kits.

Mine works from about 10 - 12 feet away, UNLESS I am at my favorite 7-11 for coffee, which is right across the street from a hospital, then it does not work at all, no matter how close I hold it..........  also, my cell phone will cancel it out if I hold them together.   Key in the pocket away from the cell and all is fine.

Like I stated earlier, it is easier to push a button on the dash  ------ it ALWAYS works (even at a hospital and even while using a cell phone).  I think the key with the push buttons is about as useless as the on board G.P.S.  The MOCO should have saved the money they used on these two items, and put that money on something usefull.

I agree whole heartedly!  And while they're at it, they should replace the Air Temp gauge with something more useful as well.

My key works from about 6 feet in.  My air temp gauge didn't work when I took delivery - local shop discovered it wasn't connected under the fairing.

Just turned over 1000 miles on my 2010 "Orange Crush" SEUC yesterday (three weeks old)!!

My 08 SEUC key fob works at about 20 ft from the bike. If I hold it up under my chin it works 30 ft away.Go Figure!!!!!!!!!!!
