I put the chrome air dam on my 03 Road Glide and its been on ever since, only two hole mounting, never any problem with the fasteners comng loose or wobbles have had it up to 120 mph.

Also had on my 96 Road King, 99 Ultra and 02 Electra Glide, again no wobbles on any of thes bikes. Do not know if the air dam helped or not.

After I added the Ride-STR8 there was a immediate noticeable difference in straight line stability. I use the standard 12" shield with the lowers attached and up to 100 I have no wobble. (I'll leave the 100 + to the youngins).
My guess is the rubber mount engine can certainly contribute to or accentuate the high speed wobbles.

I have had that air dam on the SEEG since birth, no wobble. It fits fine w/ the 2 srcews, no cracking.

Screamin, looks good!  What hardware did you use?  The one that comes with the deflector, or the hardware that holds the chrome triple tree cover on?

I picked one up this morning.  The hardware will be interchangeable Brian.  We're screwing in to the same bolt holes in the tree so the bolts better be the same size.  You'll just end up with three spare chromed bolts to add to the pile in that junk drawer in your tool box.

Ok, so how well does it work on a Road Glide?  Does it cut down on the air movement behind the fairing?

I can't remember if my 1985 FLT had the air dam or not, but I seem to remember that the air dam came stock on my 1990 FLHS (flat-black). I replaced the flat black with the chrome air dam.

My question: Has anyone seen this chrome air dam available in HD matching colors?

I can only find it in chrome.

thanks

No, I havn't. But you can go to a PPG paint shop and get a rattle can. PPG makes HDs paint and you can get a match. This might be a good option for this. Great for small parts that dont show too much.  I wouldn't use it on big things. Paint the part with your color and then 3 or 4 coats of clear, let it hang and cure for about a week before instalation. The last one I got was about 21.00 with tax.

Dave,

Unfortunately, he meant -9 F (-23 C).  Froze our butts off this past weekend, with more of the same forecast for the upcoming weekend.

The USA never really embraced metrification.  Some industries such as the auto industry jumped in with both feet back in the 1980's, but most of the country still deals with fahrenheit, miles, inches, etc.  The only reason you find a few metric fasteners on a Harley is that some of the parts are Japanese.
