........................Look Twice, Save a Life

After months of wait, motorcyclists are now dusting off their bikes and hitting the open road.
But as the number of bikers increase, so do the number of accidents. With this in mind, the Alliance of Bikers Aimed Toward Education, or A.B.A.T.E., are now looking to get their message out.
"Everybody needs to be aware of motorcycles." said A.B.A.T.E.
The group helped modify the PA state helmet law so that bikers can decide whether or not if they want to wear a helmet. Their mission is to protect the rights of bikers, and raise awareness to motorcycle safety. For them, it's an early start to the season.
"It's a whole new season again. We're earlier this year than normal, and as our slogan goes, look twice save a life," . "Encourage those that ride bikes to look twice and make sure they are not pulling out in front of anyone. Also, the driver awareness is low because they haven't seen them in six months."
April is helmet awareness month.
"The past weekend was just phenomenal,". "The record breaking temperatures, motorcyclists have been out in full force."
The stores top sellers include leather jackets, gloves, and helmets. The warm weather has also made way for an increase in bike sale, there are several simple steps that motorists and bikers can take to avoid accidents.
"As a motorcyclist, you have to pay attention going into intersections, take a look at the road conditions, potholes, loose sand, gravel, things like that so we want everyone to keep the shiny side up, and enjoy the ride.
