Cee Bailey SSC Windscreen
« on: April 06, 2010, 08:31:37 PM »

Looking for a long haul windscreen for the batwing...I have a Klock Werks 6.5 for around town which has proven to be  useless on the highway at speeds over 55mph due to buffeting right between the eyes (2010 FLHXSE, stock seat, I'm 5'8").  I'm interested in the Cee Bailey SSC but most the previous threads I researched on the forum were either for a road glide applications or not the new super step contour (SSC) windscreen.  Anyone actually have one of these on a street glide?  How do you like it? I'm trying to determine what height to order?

I use the Cee Bailey, measure 11 & 1/2 inch straight up from the black gauge trim pc. & that is the height, works great for me.

Thanks for the offer on the 8.5 but I don't think this is going to get much more than the KW 6.5 I have.  Cee Baileys website states for this specific windscreen (SSC) to add 3inches to a typical harley highway windscreen.  Assuming a typical harley highway windscreen is somewhere between 8-10 inches this would then translate to a SSC windscreen of 11-13 inches due to the pronunced recurve of the windscreen.

That's what I did (I'm c 5' 10").

I've tried the standard Harley, and a variety of Clearview windshields with a recurve.

All for me have a bit of a problem.

The Clearview once I got the right height did reduce buffeting but then meant I had to sit very upright to see over it in rain.
The Cee Bailey's probably is quieter and I can hear the stereo better but I do get a bit of forward buffeting around the back of my helmet at about 75mph that seems to clear at higher speeds (nothing too bad)
The standard Harley mid height screen caused me double vision at cruising speeds with the buffeting.

So I'll probably stick with the Cee Baileys.

Jon...so you are running the SSC version with the recurve?  What height did you order from Cee Baileys?

I'm working away at the moment so I can't measure, but basically I measured as per the Cee Baileys website.

I'll have a look at the weekend.

It's the 14" one.

Hope it works out for you, the one thing about screens is everybody is different.  I don't know if it's helmet, body shape, clothing or what.
