I just picked up a raw 2" baffel core with no end cap attached i was just wondering which way this would install in the muffler as far as the way the spiral cores would face . Toward the exhaust or away from the exhaust.

The exhaust should not be "scooped" into the muffler. The cutouts should face the exit end of the muffler.
