Choice of color: TS or SR
« on: April 11, 2010, 02:35:10 AM »

I have the choice for Tequila Sunrise or a Spiced Rum. As both colors have not been delivered yet (Switzerland), I can only view the photos on this site. My question is not about which color is better (tastes are different), but how do they look like in real life (cf. attached photos).

Tequila Sunrise: is the red color more orange/gold (T1) or more pink (T2)? Under which light conditions is the pink visible?

Spiced Rum: is this a dark color (S1) or a brighter one (S2)?

If the Tequila pink is not dominant and only visible under certain (limited) light conditions), I would go for this color. Otherwise for Spiced Rum, if it is not too bright. Else I may flip a coin.

Are there any Tequila Sunrise or Spiced Rum owners who would go for the other color now?

I don't think either picture of the TS is very accurate.  Here's a link that you can click on to view pics but they're not very good, either.  The TS is probably the hardest color to capture on film.  The first three pics are taken indoors under artificial lighting while the others are outside but taken with a phone camera......neither do the paint job an justice.  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=41301.0

I don't have either color, but if you want the one with a paint job that has the bling factor working for it....has the "wow" factor, it'd be the TS.  If you're looking for a more subdued, more conservative color it'd be the SR.  Good luck in your choice.....either one you're going to love this bike. :2vrolijk_21:

The TS is more of an "orange" than a pink.  Here's some pics taken in natural lighting that are pretty close....  http://www.cvoharley.com/smf/index.php?topic=41301.msg635553#msg635553

I own a Spiced Rum absolutely love the deep dark colour, have not seen the Tequila so I can't give my vote on that colour.

I personally own a TS.  The reason I bought it was because I walked into the dealer and the color had such a wow factor to it that I just had to have it.  I have seen both colors in person and IMO your pics of the SR are a lot closer to the actual color than the TS.  The TS basecoat is actually a red, but the clearcoat has a metallic gold that makes it look a little orange indoors.  Outside the bike looks more red to me than orange.  I would definately stay with TS if I had to do it all over again.

I've seen all three and fortunately my first pick is the TS which in inbound mid May. Had my dealer had any other color which is his last, I would still have placed the deposit. No wrong choice!

All three of the SESG's are beautiful. IMO most striking of the '10 CVO's. The Ultra's to me just look like well...a gussied up Ultra. The SESG screams CVO.

One of the decision points (not that there were many) was how I would feel about the color a year from now. Passed on the yellow '09 CVO Road Glide thinking I would eventually tire of the color. Glad I passed. I've always gone for the darker colors and am a bit of a chrome whore. Love the contrast. Spiced Rum fit the bill. Also, felt the gloss black inner fairing looks cleaner with the darker color. Finish brightens up in the sun, almost a deep burgundy tint. Added a King Tour pack for trips with the wife. The factory did a great job on the paint, flames and all. Downside...dark shows the dust, dirt, and, god forbid, scratches.

Bottom line, color is personal. Make a decision, write the check, and enjoy.

I've seen all three colors inside and in the sun.  I prefer the SR over the other two with TS being my least favorite.  I like a darker colored bike personally though.

This is a pretty accurate representation of how the SR looks in sunlight. The minute it gets overcast it goes quite dark.

That is one nice looking Tequila :2vrolijk_21:...any more pics of the painted inner fairing and switch cover...also what wheels/size are those and color of engine lights.

And to Klonko, I picked up my Tequila last weekend and the colour is fantastic, and no pink...it truly is outstanding in the sun...the gold flakes rock!!
I have seen all 3 colours in the sun and they are all nice, but to me the Tequila is outstanding and definetly says custom!

Be bold, be brave, be Tequila!!! :pepper:

Great representation of the SR.  Mine is very dark, but we have yet to come into the summer months with decent sunshine.

I've had my SR for 9 months now and still love the color.  I've seen all three, indoors and outdoors and still prefer the SR over the other two.  Also, having the SR saves a little money too because I think it's the only color that looks good with the black painted inner fairing and the contrast cut wheels...so that saved me about $1500 not having to color match the fairing and get the chrome Agitator wheels.   :2vrolijk_21:
