Need some help trying to figure out whats wrong with my XM radio.

I have a 2006 SEUC and it comes with the xm radio stock.   It goes in and out like crazy!!!  driving me nuts!! My bike is out of warranty. I pulled the faring and the antenna wires look ok.   I am using a tunetrapper for my radio. 

Any ideas would be great!!

Try taking the XM antenna out of the fairing and dbl-side tape it right by the windshield on top inside of fairing. Had similar problem on 08 and 10 and it worked for both.

Not exactly sure where in the fairing I should try and put it.   A pic would be great if possible!

Sorry to say it may be "normal". My 07 SEUC was real fussy about trees, buildings, etc. Much worse than the car and truck.

I have the same problem on my '06 SEUC. I have read posts where people have taken a dremmel and notched a small notch on the inner fairing (for the wire) and placed it on top on the dash pad.

If you have a 3 pouch bag thing it will fit in between the pouches on the metal base plate and due to the magnet it will stay.

Just things I have read upon. I too am thinking of doing this.

I have the 2 pouch bag and am thinking the same thing. The pouches shouldn't block anything--right?

Took the bike out today just to check and it is still happening!! Very annoying!!!!

It goes in and out like crazy... tress or no trees!!  Whats really weird is my buddy just bought a brand new 2010 street glide (stock) and added the xm (500.00 option) and his works great!!!

Mine on my 06 does the same thing when there are obstructions like trees, tall buildings and mountains.  My truck is not as bad since the antenna is on the top of it.  I think what you are experiencing is common on XM especially on a motorcycle.

The antenna is on a plate on left side(inside) and may be attached to plate with magnet or tape. Pry it loose and attach on outside of fairing to left of winshield with dbl sided tape. Wire will fit in slot where windshied is. For a pic go to electronics and look at post for "leather covered hogpad". You may still have some minor interference but it is minimal.

I found the post but cant see the antenna on the faring???  i even blew up the pic and still cant find it....  maybe im blind...  where is it exactly...  sorry!!!

Oh and thanks alot now im considering the tweeter pod with leather wrap!!!!  lol

The xm antenna for my road glide is on the outside middle where the windscreen meets the inner fairing.  Works perfect.  A samll piece of velcro maintains position.  Even works when inside the garage and the door is closed.
