Mirrors
« on: April 12, 2010, 05:40:42 PM »

Has anyone changed the mirrors on the 2010 SESG ?  What did you do with the holes ?  I can wait til winter to have the holes patched correctly.  Any "black" rubber plugs being used....

There are plugs.  However, if you're thinking about getting it painted you may try to trade somebody.

I traded with a guy that bought a new Limited.  He wanted the painted black inner fairing with fairing mirrors and I wanted handle bar mirrors.  I traded him for his fairing and some $$ to help cover the cost of getting it painted.

Sorry, couldn't help my self.  I think you can get them at the dealership.  If not, I've got them before at Orchard Supply.

1 other reason to paint a new one....I heard the paint may adhere better to an unpainted fairing rather than putting a coat of blue paint on top of the black and clear that is already on it. Don't know how true that is, but for $150 for the un-painted inner fairing it may not be worth the gamble. It's a lot of work if it peels. Just a thought..and then you can get one without holes!!

Just ordered these. Will post photos when they are arrived/installed in about 10 days.

Split Vision Fairing Mount Mirrors
See even more of the world that you just passed. This exclusivedesign Split Vision Mirror minimizes blind spots and provides a wide panoramic rear view of the left and right lane, and the road behind you. The mirror features a large primary panel for normal view, and a second outboard convex panel for a wider field of vision. Slightly larger than the standard-view Fairing Mount Mirrors, these split vision mirrors offer the same full range of adjustability. A direct bolt-on replacement for standard-view Fairing Mount Mirrors, the kit also includes the hardware and mounting template required for easy and accurate installation on other models.

Here you go: (Paul Yaffe Product):

Bagga Chips
Everytime we install a set of Monkey Bars on a Street Glide we need to change the mirrors. The problem is when you remove the fairing mounted mirrors they leave behind the ugly mounting holes drilled in the inner fairing. Problem solved!
We've created "Bagga Chips" inner fairing hole covers! These trick little Billet covers are 3 dimensionally designed to flow with all the curves of HD's batwing fairings so they blend in a create a natural flow for the eye. They really add a trick accent to the fairing too! They are available chrome plated or in black ano with accent cut edge. The include needed install hardware and easy to follow instructions. They install in minutes.

Part# - BC-C / Bagga Chips Chrome / Intro Price: $99.95 Pr.
Part# - BC-B / Bagga Chips Black / Intro Price: $99.95 Pr.

Cheap, no but looks good!

Wow, a little hard on Sea Biscuit, weren't you?  :-\ Ya just could have said they weren't for you.  :nixweiss: Some other folks might really like the looks of them.
Like JC said, the people in this forum are great for offering their suggestions and a lot of good info is provided, but no need to slam a guys product... :(

Sorry if I was too harsh....didn't mean anything personal.....Sorry Sea Biscuit.....all I was asking for was a couple rubber plugs to cover the holes til winter and then fill the holes and repaint the fairing....real simple question ..so I thought.
Again I apologize.....

I think they look odd (in the 1st pic) due to the reflection in the chrome?  Look at the 2nd pic and you'll see that the 1st pic is picking up the reflection of the lever?
