You guys missed the whole jest of the statements........... Yes it move the soul, but if it roasts your peanuts off
at every stop sign, leaves you in the middle of Wyoming when something in the engine quits, that's where it needs to
be in the 21st century. Paint & chrome only goes so far! If your thinking about yourself (as most do) Harley will never
get the young people, they want something that they can just ride, and not worry about! Besides, they will have to
cool the beast sooner then you think. They can only go so far before uncle takes over!

I've ridden over 30k on a Harley in just over 3 years, and the worst problem I've had is that my battery died when I left the lights on (note to self - don't do that again).  That takes more than just paint and chrome.  And engine temps can be an issue in August in Dallas, but I far prefer air-cooled look, sound and feel over my Honda that I traded in on my Harley in late 07.  If they do have to cool the beasts (and you're probably right), that will be a sad day when it does come.

This is so true.  In my 7 years of owning Harleys (yes, I'm one of the young ones!), I've not had one problem with any of my bikes.  I bought the bikes for their iconic status...you don't get that with any other manufacturer.  Yeah, they aren't the most technically advanced bikes but I challenge you to show me a production bike that turns more heads at stop lights.  That being said, I still don't feel like I bought a bike prone to breaking down...for us young-ins, we never lived through that era so our experience with the bikes has been mostly good.

From what I can surmise on these boards and with friends, the people having (most) of the mechanical issues are those tinkering with the engine, exhaust, etc... to mimic the performance of the metric bikes.  Sure, the engine is choked by the EPA.  But it's not terrible, in my opinion.  But then again, I ride a yellow CVO in part because it looks damn cool and I don't mind taking my time to give the folks a good view of it!   ;D

Noticed the moco stock went down today...a reflection on Wall Streets reaction to the new models?

Highly unlikely.  The market is down in general.  If anything, it's a reaction to the release of the QTR2 financials and the outlook they put forth within.  They've got some labor negotiations that aren't boding well.

a good old friend used to ride a Deuce and changed to the V-Rod. As he toured a lot in Russia and Ukraina he again changed to BMW GS.

He feared to break down on a country road somewhere between Mocow and nowhere and thought only metric help would be availiable - if any.

In the last 12 month he had 7 recalls and 3 breakdowns - my FLHTCUSE had 1 recall and 1 (easily fixed within 6 hours) breakdown in the same time and did some 5.000 m more.

It isn't really rocket science - but you can rely on it  ;)

I have owned 10 Harleys (7 CVO's) and at this moment I have three of them. I have ridden more than 100K miles in 10 years that I have been riding Harleys. I have participated in three Posses, Pony Express Route and on the way to Route 66 in September. I have crossed US from coast to coast in three opportunities. I have ridden in the 48 lower states and several countries in Latin America. NEVER, NEVER I have had the Harleys broken in the middle of the road..........short words: I LOVE HARLEY's especially CVO's!!!

I've not had any problems with my 103, but those of you who have never had a problem,
most not read the "Twin Cam" area of this website. Seems "we" are in the
minority of people who have not had problems. FACT is the problems seem to be
with the 110, and those looking the other way seem to be in Denial. I hope no one has
problems but read about everyone else. I've had a lot of friends left on the side of the road,
and are really glad that has NOT happened to you, or me.
I love my Harley, just want it to be better in the motor area. I hate to worry about the cam tensioner, the crank runout taking out the oil pump. I also worry about the catalytic converter
frying the engine etc, and these thing have happened often.
