Hello,
I am both a first time Harley owner and a first time CVO owner hailing from Moultonboro NH. I recently purchased a 2003 Screaming Eagle Road King from Laconia HD. I went in not really looking for a CVO, but a standard Road King classic, but after being instantly attracted to the CVO, i took it for a ride and felt there was no comparison for what I wanted the bike for. So far the only additions are passing lamps and Supertrapp SE slip ons, and personally I think the bike has just the right sound. Even my wife, who swore she would never ride on a motorcycle, has hopped on the back and gone for a ride. Sadly, my bike did not come with the original passenger backrest, so I am going to have to buy one to make her feel safer and more comfortable.
We have been pretty fortunate to have an early spring here by our standards, so I have already gotten out a few times. Unfortunately, however, I am a mechanic and managed to suck my right index finger between a cam gear and a timing belt, breaking the finger tip in 2 places and chewing up the finger pretty bad. The good news is I didn't lose the finger, and with it splinted and wrapped, I can still ride, although it must look fairly odd to oncoming traffic. Having good weather and a couple of weeks off have made riding a great way to deal with the pain and frustration. My father returns from his winter journey in another couple weeks and we hope to rack up the miles riding around this great state we live in. It will be interesting to finally have a bike to enjoy bike week that I have been a spectator to for the last 15 years.
So yeah, that's my story and thanks for having this space for me to say hi.
Matt
