Accessory switch gone bad
« on: February 05, 2006, 09:49:25 AM »

My accessory switch no longer lights up and my tour pack light which was wired to it is no longer working/ Anyone have this problem, checked the fuse. It used to light when switched? I"m pretty sure it did anyways.  [smiley=nixweiss.gif]

Spoiler is run/stop.  Accy power and run and stop lights that you picked up for the spoiler all come through that accessory plug in front of the batter under the seat.  Perhaps your problem isn't the switch in the dash but a loose accessory plug or something in the various splices made in the rear making up whatever harness was made to put it all together.

I thought that might be it so I connected the tour pack directly, without the extension I had made and its still not working as a run/stop only stop.

Time to get out a test light or meter and make sure both the run wire and the stop wire get hot at that plug.  Need to find out whether you're problem is at the rear end of the bike or somewhere up front.
