Actually it was a tuff call and if the SESG rear was on the SEUC I may of bought the SEUC. I see mods on each bike going in the directions of the other. At the end of the day I seldom see anyone who actually rides the bike, keep any bike just the way it came we all have our own version of the ever evolving "Perfect Bike".

That's right, and if you do the mods either way you get the best of both worlds for different outings !

My wife hasn't been excatly thrilled with our Ultra. After riding on a 03 FXDWG for 7 years she is used to having her own space on the pillion. I am wondering if we should have bought a Street Glide and added the additional parts and we really don't need a CB.

I've actually owned both, so here goes....I bought the SESG originally because, like a lot of others on this thread, I fell for the looks of the back side and the lower saddle bags.  It definitely has more of a custom look.   However, after owning two SEUC before, I missed the creature comforts too much.  Once you've owned the SEUC, it's hard to be satisfied with anything else.  My solution to this has been to detach my tour pack on my 2010 SEUC.  At the end of riding season, I may entertain the thought of lowering the bags and changing the rear fillers to the SESG version with the lights...this way it feels like I own both models.

One other additional thought on the above post...I was really surprised at how heavy the tour pack was when I took it off my bike...

X13  About bought a sesg last month. Started adding up all the things I wanted to add to it. Tp, lowers, wheels, ect. Figured it would be cheaper to buy seuc5. Very happy with my decision. Have the red and slate and way love the paint scheme. That said. Now I want the tp datachable and the sesg rear fender, lights, and extended bags. So cheaper is out the door. So guess this reply is not much help. Screw it Let's Ride!   :bananarock:

My wife and I test rode a SG and I couldn't belive how heavy the tp is...So I agree that the SEUC may be more of a warhorse for making huge days in the saddle, but I still need to do a few things to make my ultra sit a little closer to the ground. I'd like to sit more into the bike as opposed to sitting on the bike. The seat isn't all that comfortable for 900 mile days. :(

NO

I believe in the saying "if you ride Harley's long enough you will eventually end up on an Ultra"

Streetglides look great and I would like to own one, but putting a tourpak on one does not make it an ultra.

I use mine to run a lot of errands and I love the power lock, big trunk.

Some of the things I thought I would never use or care about are my favorite features...the heated seat/grips, lowers, intercom, CB, backrest.

But it only matters what you want...Get what you like and then start spending money on it so it becomes what you need. :huepfenlol2:
