A couple of our favorites that are easily accessible form Denver are Rocky Mountain National Park, Top of the Rockies Loop, the Peak to Peak route to Estes Park.  The locals can give you a few really great routes.  We really look forward to getting back out to that part of the country.  Enjoy!

When you rent the bike, they will have maps to give (sell) you, that will give you the most popular "loops" to ride. The peak to peak and the Trail Ridge road are a couple of the most popular and scenic roads that are an easy day trip out of Denver. You can turn the Trail Ridge ride into a couple of days if you have the time. If you have several days the best riding is around the million dollar highway in southern Colorado near Ouray, but that will take you several days to see. Head into the Rocky Mountains and you can not go wrong on any road you take. Take rain gear, as you will most likely need it (sometimes you will even see some snow showers up high in July). ENJOY!!

Be sure to visit the dealer in Loveland... One of the nicest shops I've been to.

Enjoy your trip!

The Jade Inn Rocks!!  Best little bike motel i've seen.  Stay there if you're in Loveland.  It's on the west end of town and a stone's throw from a great river canyon.

Did close to the same trip in 2008... we shipped our bikes to Denver instead of renting.. had a great time, great riding..When leaving Vail, otw to Montrose go straight down 24 thru Leadville, hen 50 West across thru Gunnison to Montrose.. &) thru Gran Junction would be faster but not as scenic..We went to and stayed in Telluride as opposed to Durango, but Ouray is cool and thats on the way to Durango..

Be sure to stop off for a dip at  the Orvis hotsprings (clothing optional) in Ridgeway. One quarter mile past the light in town, on the right side of the road HWY 50. It is about 15 miles before you get to Ouray. Very nice place and Very well kept.  www.orvishotsprings.com   Also eat at the True Grit cafe and see where they filmed the movie with John Wayne in the park across the street from the resteraunt.
