So here I was in June of 2008 with a 3 month old Kawasaki Mean Streak that only had about 500 miles on it.

A buddy of mine who is Die-Hard Harley and had been giving me a ton of shiznit for buying a metric bike tells me that they're having a Harley demo days event near where we live. I figure "what the hell"... I'm not in the market, but I like riding pretty much anything so I'm in. As luck would have it, one of the demo bikes was a 2008 Screamin' Eagle Road King in Black Diamond and Silver Dust colors. I was hooked within the first mile.

The Mean Streak ended up being sold with only 700 miles on it.

I was fortunate enough to find a SERK brand new and it was delivered in July of '08.
Well... almost 2 years and only heaven knows how much money later (actually, I do know, down to the penny but I ain't admittin' nuthin'...) what you see below is the result so far. I love it. I've done a lot of tweaking and "making it mine" so to speak but I absolutely love it. I'll never be truly finished with it but I just got my hard bags and tour-pak from BigFaty's (a.k.a. Gene Nielen /
www.paintbygene.com) a few weeks ago and I added the Memphis Shades batwing fairing today (that will go to Gene & Pam for some repaint / color match after the fall) so I thought I woudl put it on the forum for review.
I apparently absolutely suck at photography

because none of what I am about to post here does the bike justice but I figure it's good enough to get a reasonable idea on how it looks.
Many thanks to Gene & Pam, to Steve Davidson at Memphis Shades and to Ted at Iron Glass Design (as well as many others) for working with me on my "tweaks". I welcome your input - even if there's something that you don't like. Just be kind if you're going to be negative...
