Which brand did you replace your factory speakers with?
« on: April 25, 2010, 08:11:56 PM »

Now that I have the correct sound from my exhaust, I now need to upgrade my factory speakers. Who has the best sounding speaker without adding an amp? :nixweiss:

My vote goes to the J&M 7.25" speakers.   :2vrolijk_21:  Awesome even with out the new amp!

The wife and I just added the Hog Pods.  Seems to have done the trick for us. :2vrolijk_21:

Painted to match and they come with a nice chrome accent.  A huge difference in relation to the little cost (in comparison to other mods).  Twenty year warranty.  We're using the open mesh metal grill cover (vs. the cloth grill cover similar to stock) and while I try not to spray them directly with the hose, they've got wet many times over with no issues.  I'm usually playing the stereo when I'm washing the bikes and it's still not been an issue.  It's one cost of a modification that I feel was totally worth it.

I went with HD's boom speakers for front, Hogtunes in back, then went to boom in back to match look and added Hogtunes tweeter bar(leather wrapped). I think it was a pretty good bang for the buck.

I was very happy with J&M speakers through the stock radio            until I heard a hawg-wired amp and speaker system sounds great    is it expensive?   yes   but worth it.

Contact Chuck at Dr. V-Twin http://www.drvtwin.com/

I paid $219.95 for my SERG '09 2 ohm speakers from Dr. V-Twin.

They are also a Hogtunes dealer so if you want to talk other products, he should be able to help you out.

I did the 7.25" in the SERG without an amp.  The sound is very crisp and clear without any noticable distortion at 70 mph.

My vote for sure is J&M 7.25" speakers.

Good luck with your research.

Going with Hawg Wired. Went with them on my SEUC back in 2007 and it was great. So will go with their full set up for my SESG (including tweeters and amplifier). Buying it through hd-dude here.

All the best.

Just put the Boom set on front and back.  The highs are much louder but I don't think they sound much better then stock.  The stock rear speakers are two-way so no difference there.  Not happy with the change.  Think I will go with the 7.25s and maybe leave the back stock.
