Fullsac Install, ECM programming question
« on: May 01, 2010, 04:38:03 PM »

I sent the below question to Steve earlier and am not sure I have the patience to wait until Monday to call.  Just curious if anyone on here had this experience or a solution. My full install includes 2" cores and the x-pipe.

"I just had the opportunity to ride the bike after the install this weekend.  I believe I may have not properly completed the fuel map upload as the bike's throttle response can be sluggish at times, most noticeably above 2500 RPM.  On a constant throttle, or slight constant roll on the throttle the bike will "stutter" and occasionally miss when rolling on the throttle hard from this position.  At idle, the bike appears to fire fine.  I think my error may have been in the MT7 upload.  After loading the MT7 file you sent me, and selecting program ECM,  I believe the software asked me for ""enable or disable ACR" and chose the default enable ACR.   I believe the next question asked for a specification that I cannot remember exactly what it was but I also left that at the default choice which was around 2127 or so (I can not fully recall).  The file then uploaded properly, but again I believe I made an error as it is sluggish at times.  Any advice is greatly appreciated.  I apologize for all the questions but fuel management and exhaust systems are out of my technical realm."

I have verified that I also have no exhaust leaks.

ACR on is correct.  The 2nd value is your speedo correction, most are off anywhere up to about 6%, you increase that number slightly to decrease your error.  You can always re-upload the map if you think it didn't take.

Just use Mastertune to "Get ECM Info" and then look at the Part Number for the calibration file it returns. HD part numbers are all numbers most of the time. If you got an MT7 file loaded it will be a combination of numbers and letters. AE176002-000 is an example of a MT7 part number. They are all 2 or three letter followed by numbers for MT7 files unless someone goes in and changes them.

It's an MT7 file and I loaded it properly after verifying.  Old/questionable fuel maybe?

If you think you might have bad fuel then you need to drain it out and refill with new fuel. You might event add a little octane booster to the first tank of fresh fuel to help clean it out.

I believe the problem has been found. 02 sensors swapped.  Steve knew right away what is was based upon the symptoms.  Unfortunately, I cannot get to the bike right now because it is buried in the garage behind furniture due to my wife's "project".  I will be sure to update when back to normal.

Well, the correct fix would be to remove the header and change the sensors, but couldn't you just unplug them and reverse where they plug in?  It'd be a couple minutes fix as opposed to an hour or so.  You'd just have to remember that next time or you'd have the same problem.

Yes, that was my plan however the grey and black connectors are not of the same shape.  They look like they are in appearance but definitely are not when you try and swap them.  They are ever so slightly different.  Oh well, looks like I will be spending another hour or so on this problem (caused by me).

When I did mine a couple weekends ago, I did it one at a time, just for this reason.

Yeah, I did the same (so I thought).  I have no idea how I got it crossed.
