My 110 just isnt that strong!
« on: May 05, 2010, 09:04:58 AM »

Guys I was wondering if you might provide some feedback. I have a 2007 Screamin Eagle CVO Road King with the 110 engine. My friends stock 103 road king police model SMOKES my 110. It just does not seem like it should be that much faster than mine. Even my 2009 Fatboy 96 is faster (I know its lighter). I also had a S&S 107 on a rigid frame that was MUCH faster than my 110.

My question is why is the 110 performing like an 88? Will a screamin eagle race tuner wake up my ride properly tuned? Are the 110s just slow compared to the 103s with police programming? What gives?

Thanks!

The right tune and pipe will turn the tables.
They are pipe sensitive. There are many out there but all things considered the stock headpipes 2/1/2 no cat and Fullsacks hits a lot of targets including retaining the EPA logo on the muffler. From there I would look at a good 2 into 1 like the FatCat.
The 110 is scalable and moves right up the ladder depending on the headwork,  compression, cam, pipe, and TB. If done properly the low end torque doesn't get murdered in the process.

You would be best served with a TTS Mastertune.

ive seen a few dyno charts over the years that show that stone stock police bikes DO often have more power, no idea if its tune or what - but its the one harley that should be left alone.

The 110" is a sleeping giant, that needs a good strong cup of coffee, to wake up!!! :2vrolijk_21:
Headwork, cam change, pipe swap, and a t/body, are some of the options, that will snap it to attention. :)

There's plenty of power on tap , your wallet is the only restriction .  Start with TTS and pipes , then cams, headwork .

the RK should have the 'heavy breather' on it already, right? so no need for an air cleaner... u have mufflers, so thats good... now u need it TUNED...
TTS, SEST, power commander, whatever ur tuner prefers... altho the PC will need to find a home on the bike, which probably doesn't have alot of room... the others just download into the stock computer... once tuned correctly, it will run like a different bike...

I don't know if anyone you know rides a GL1800 Honda, but I have a co worker than has one that is super fast, I blew him apart last Friday with my 103, you got to have something out of whack with your 110

Unless I missed something, the "out of whack" part might be that it's bone stock.
They can be kinda doggy as stock issue, even in a lighter bike like my Dyna.
One of my road dawgs rides a RK w/103 and that thing will outrun me, weight disadvantage and all.

quote My question is why is the 110 performing like an 88?

That was also my very dissapointing question back in may 2007 when my wife riding a 2001 fairly standard nighttrain left my brand new fxstsse 110 during an acceleration test on the freeway  WTF
