My response was more tongue in cheek, but as far as the 'other side of the coin' With the paint issue on the Black bikes.....its a double headed coin thats being used, in other words, there is no 'other side of the coin for me and some others here....I hope your Black Candy Crimson is OK, mine is not, no internet myths here. Not meant as a flame in any way shape or form 8-)

We (CVO owners) all need to be sympathetic and fully supportive toward owners who feel they've been slighted on product quality or have received less than stellar support from the MoCo. We (CVO owners) are the cr

I talked to a Moco rep at the IMS show in Chicago yesterday.  Moco is very aware of the black/slate clear coat problem and have fixed it for present/future shipments.  They had a black/slate on display and it looked great.  I wouldn't hesitate to take delivery of one now.

I was there with another rider who also thought the bike looked "great."  I checked and didn't see a problem with the paint, and I don't see the problem in the photo.  There are surely issues with previous bikes, based on posted photos, but damn, to call this bike flawed is being hypercritical - and I'm a pretty fussy consumer.
Let the flaming begin.

Mine is just like that.

It's like they left out the black or something, let alone if the have the foggy look which mine don't seem to have.

Eagle1, you're right about the lighting and this one indoors did not seem near as bad as some of the photos posted around here that were taken outdoors, but I don't think it's gonna take you long to see what I'm talking about, cuz like I said, my wife saw it! ;D

On some of the bikes posted here, you can see a big difference in color between the inner and outer fairings and also the gas tank.

You have seen a Black and Slate one with no problems???, That would be great, that would make our case agaisnt Harley very strong for a re-call, according to the attorney I spoke with today. I beg to see one of the voters who checked the "nothing wrong ' with my Black Crimson SE box on the poll bikes, does anyone here actually know who these guys are that voted?? Is it possible that its someone from Harley signing up and voting just for that reason???..... Untill I see it, I cant believe it, the parts are all painted by the same shop, and the same way. if they changed it, then thats good too, thats admitting guilt. If you can, put one of us in touch with the perfect painted black ones if you can, it would be most helpfull, (I wish I had waited for a Haze one now too ) :(

Cigar Mike,

Harley WILL NOT RECALL paint issues. They will only recall safety issues. The paint issues will be taken care of under warranty, but they will not have a total recall. The haze has the same problem but you don't notice it as much due to the lighter color. The problem will be resolved, it's just a matter of time.

Take Care,

Grover
