Footboard extensions
« on: May 08, 2010, 10:40:26 PM »

CVORick turned me on to these. What a difference they make. It's nice to have your entire foot on the footboard instead of only half. The ride feels more stable and more comfortable.

I tried the kuryakyn extensions but they extend out and also forward 1". The forward extension interfered with the rear brake for my size 14's. These are just 1" out. Much better for me. Great cheap upgrade that really works.

Got mine through Pingel.  1 1/4" extentions but they didn't have chrome.  Cost a little less but If I knew about these I would have bought them.  Same kit as in their picture.

any problems scraping your boards sooner ? I have already got into my boards pretty deep and even scraped the arm that holds the board on the right side. I would like to add them but dont want to lessen my lean angle.  :nixweiss:

Anything that extends out without hight will reduce lean angle. But it's minimal in my opinion. Some scraping is gonna happen, at least in my experience even with stock. However, the pros far out way the additional scraping that may occur from aggressive turns. You still gotta get in to it pretty good to scrape them but if your already scraping stock, you will certainly be dragging these even more. I haven't lowered my ride and I get a scrape from time to time. But to me, that's just part of riding.
