They are super expensive!! J&M direct was $746.98 including shipping for the Integrated Profile. Nikki's was local because she needed the Quantum II, it was $869. Ouch!!

Yep, that's expensive alright.  First I need to see how the Arai fits, the parts guy says they only fit some headshapes.  Then I'll have to decide.  The life I save may be my own.

You probably already know this but just in case... Arai makes 4 different full face models. Each has a different shaped shell for different head shapes. In addition you can change the padding thickness. This is all in addition to the size. I would expect that with that flexability that it's more likely to get an Aria that fits than with other brands.
J&M only has the integrated headset for the Profile model. If any other model is what fits you then you won't be able to get it directly from J&M. Local is your only choice. Thats why I bought the Quantum II for Nikki local and got the Profile for me from J&M.
I tried squishing her head so a Profile would fit her but "No Luck".

It's very easy to put headsets in the Arai helmets.  My better half and I have been running bike-to-bike systems for several years now in ours.  The cheekpads pop right out and the covers just slip off.  You can put the ear speaker in the earcup/depression and put the cover back over it.  Run the wire around the helmet inbetween the neck roll and the base of the helmet liner.  The mic can be hooked in under the cheekpad as it's put into place.  Of course, this only works on full face helmets.  The Arai's are the best fitting helmets for me.  The Signet line fits my more oval head much better, while the Quantum fits a more rounded head.

Arcticdude is right. The Profile is the 2006 replacement for the Signet and is designed for oval shaped heads. The Quantum II for round heads.

My mike is installed in the chin bar (don't know what to call it). Between the right and left cheek pad across the front is a removable piece. It's made of foam. They cut a hole about a half inch in diameter into the pad and pushed the mike into the hole from the shell side, then placed the mike cover on the inside.

Plenty of clearance from my mouth. I don't even know its there. The stereo sounds great. It sounds the same sitting still or doing 80. Intercom was good too.

Just for further explanation, when we speak of an "oval" and "round" head, we're referring to the shape of the head when viewed from the top, not from the front.  The longer the head is front to back, the more likely the Signet/Profile will fit better and not give you a red, sore forehead.  The Arai's also seem much better aerodynamically than any other helmet I've had- Bell, Simpson, or Shoei.  They're much better at high (140+mph) speeds than the others.  I lived 2 years on the autobahns of Western Germany and had the chance to try it.  Not that I was on a Harley at the time, though!!

I was involved early with the "new" cable for the 06 CUSE. J&M gave me ecellent support and responsive when my old J&M cable would not work well with the 06 radio. They put the old ones on hold for the 06's and created a new cable over the winter. I gave their prseident a copy of this thread and I am pasting his reply. I don't have any connection to J&M I am just a customer.

From J&M President John L. a reply from me sending a Thank-You note: (drop him a e-mail for info)

You are very welcome ,,,,,, and thanks for the look at the internet bulletin board ,,,,,, interesting thoughts that is for sure ,,,,,,

If I could just get all of those people to look at the helmet/headset combo offerings at www.jmcorp.com it would help their confusion I think ,,,,,,

Good wireless stuff is on the horizon for those who want to charge batteries every day  ,,,,,, but the wireless stuff coming out now does not come anywhere near to matching the performance of our wired headsets ,,,,,,

Please let me know how the new cords work for you ,,,,,

Best regards,,,,,,,,

When summer nears the end I am going to have to make a decision, after the CC run I am convinced I want to ride full time with my com/bluetooth.  Currently the stock set up is adequate on my half helmet.

I listened to the truckers talking about where the police were all the way to CC on the interstate and when in a cell range sent and received calls without any effort.
