Tour Pack Smoked Lenses
« on: May 13, 2010, 08:42:02 PM »

I'm continuing to convert all of my lenses to smoked and was wondering if anyone knows how to get the corner lamp housings out of the Tour Pack? There's a thick bead of white caulk around the housings and a big metal clip along the back edge. Anyone had them off before?

I removed the lenses to have the light bar painted to match the tour pak on my bike and used the ridetimetechnology directions.

In my case, using a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive was essential.  Also, use the flat-bladed screwdriver carefully since it's easy to create small nicks in the plastic light bar.  Finally, the alignment tabs of the lenses create the potential for chipping paint on the plastic light bar when reinstalling as it requires significant pressure to press the lenses into the light bar.

It worked great, THANKS! Kind of a weird way to keep the lenses in but I replaced the new ones and didn't have to use any additional gasket gunk. Check out the new look.
