Wanting to replace painted saddle bag latches
« on: May 21, 2010, 08:10:43 AM »

Open to suggestions here. I really prefer the look of chrome over the colour matched ones. I really really like the ones on the 2009 SERG, but cannot find a part number (possibly they are a restricted CVO part). I dislike the size and shape of the harley billet accessories and want to have an OEM logo or script so the Kury's and third party ones are out.

As i type this i realize my options are narrowing... So i guess option one would be to get the SE road glide ones somehow or option 2 to get the plain chrome OEM ones... oh did i mention I scratched my painted ones (Long stupid story)

Any help would be appreciated in finding out about these part numbers.

The 09 SERG latches are way oversized and look odd.  And have you considered that you'd be lowering the value of the SESG by getting rid of the color matched?  CVOs are a bit different than standard models in that regard.  Just something to consider.  But we're all different and we all do things differently and that's what makes em all individual. :2vrolijk_21:

You mention chrome OEM and OEM logo but OEM comes painted to match and doesn't have the logo......so not sure what you're meaning there. :nixweiss:

HDNIK, that is the "Rumble" face plate in your picture above.  Part numbers are above.

Don't listen to JC, he suffers from "SERG envy!!"   :huepfenlol2:   :huepfenlol2:   Seriously, put on what you like but JC is correct that you might want to save the color matched face plates in case you ever sell the bike.  "One man's upgrade is another man's.... "

Enjoy!    :huepfenjump3:   :huepfenjump3:

LOL, I guess I had that one coming, huh Greg. :nervous:  But since I told you that you have SESG envy I've noticed that you still lerk in here.......just don't post as much in here. :nixweiss:      :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2: :huepfenlol2:

HDNIK.....you mentioned OEM and I'm thinkin OEM for the SESG.  Didn't occur to me that you meant OEM SERG.  So I stand corrected.  You can just have Greg's......he doesn't need em. :2vrolijk_21:

Thank you all. You know it's funny, I posted what i thought was a bit of a silly question, especially under the circumstance that latch replacement became necessary, and am now even more impressed with this forum having given me so much information (and a few laughs in the process) in just a few hours.

Thanks to you all again
