Rinehart slip-ons
« on: May 21, 2010, 02:25:34 PM »

My dealer (service mgr) told me that I don't need a tuner with the Rinehart slip-on mufflers for my 2010 CVO Streetglide.  Is this correct?

I have been told that also, If that is all you are changing. Get rid of the cat and change to a high flow intake and it can benefit from a remap... BIG TIME!

Unless you get rid of the catalyst, then you should not need anything. On my wife's 2009 SERG. I took the mufflers off the bike in preparation for changing from the cat to non-cat header. Just for grins, I started the bike. The mufflers were superfluous - the bike was just as quiet without them as it was before I removed them. That clearly convinced me that the cat is severely restricting air flow, performance. etc.
