Thursday, May 20, 2010.
Received an E-Mail from JC with information and comments in regards to "purchasing ideas" from our "Chrome for Critters" ride. i.e. Tools, Garmin Zumo 665 w/XM, Helmets w/Bluetooth, Corbin Seat w/heater etc. etc. Followed by "Whatcha doin this weekend, wanna do some ridin?"

Replied back "I could go down to Corbin on Saturday."

Friday, May 21, 2010. 7:00 am
Checked my E-Mail with response from JC stating "If you want a seat for Saturday you need to call Corbin and make an appointment right away." and that he was "in" for a ride to Hollister and would meet me there.

9:00 am go to Metal Dragon to order the seat (w/discount) through Jim. Don (ISELBULLS) is there with Jim and we start talking for awhile and I'm waiting for Jim to finish before making my request. Terrie (TERRIEZ) shows up and more gabbing. She asks why I'm there and I say to order a Corbin seat for Saturday. Jim kinda craps and says "we need to get that ordered right now if you want it for tomorrow" and immediatly gets the phone. (The stuff Jim has to put up with. You come up with an idiot-proof system and they keep making better idiots to foil it.)

With Jim, Don, and Terrie there I was able to get the right advice for the type of seat I wanted. With a final "Get there around 7:30 - 7:45" from everybody I was set.

Saturday, May 22 2010, 7:05 am

Arrived at Corbin early. Planned on it taking 1.5 hrs (Google directions) but it only took 1 hr from Fremont.

I was the second arrival. Another rider had trailered in the night before and pushed his to the door just as I was arriving. (Watch that bump coming in.)

A Corbin employee let us pull our bikes in at about 7:15 am so we didn't have to sit out in the cold.

Corbin has very friendly employees. They tolerate a lot from customers, like when JC has them touring the shop instead of being by their bike to test the fit.

You'd think their sign would be less blurry with the quality seats they produce. :confused5:

This is the guy from over by Turlock that got his SG in before me. Just like 99% of the people I meet (outside of the Marine Corps) he was good folk.

Gil the seat making "artisan" assigned to my bike.

Somebody recommended I try a white seat. (Jim I think) So that's where I started.
