I used to have what my service manager called spark knock.  What fixed it for me was building the engine (259E cams, 10.5/1 pistons, heavy breather, SE Fatshotz, race tuner and smoothing our the AFR).  A little much to get rid of the spark knock but what the hell it's only money.  And now I have 104 hp and 11 ft lbs of torque.  I also agree to check the quality of your fuel.  Only use 91 unless I find 93.
