Too really appreciate that area you require a dual purpose bike to be in a position to go on-road/off-road rides.  Enjoy the roads but conquer the dirt!

Let me tell you folks something.  Have you ever seen video of the Yellow Wolf on YouTube?  That guy can ride like nobody I have ever seen until I met the Blue Wolf.  That is the Blue Wolf's 1994 Honda 1500 in the third pic.  He and I always ride together during the week and most weekends.  I have learned so much just following this guy and watching his style of riding.  It's like Forest Gump says - we are like two peas in a pod.  Best riding bud and best friend I could ever ask for.

I am meeting him at my local MoCo today.  They got a 2001 Honda GL1800A in on trade over the weekend and I am buying it for him.  Not a ton of money but he has been down on his luck due to the economy (in building and construction), still working his butt off doing anything he can (spreading pinestraw in a yard today), and I think this will help him along.  He has a wife and three kids, always lives within his means, is a great Christian man, and I'm not afraid to say that I love him like a brother.  I have been throwing money around since I got my crash $$ settlement and feel like a fool that I have been so damn selfish when my best friend has been hurting.  Time to really do something decent and NOT FOR MYSELF!

If you need any local knowledge just let me know.  I get to ride about three times a week, and know just about every "crook and nanny" er... "nook and cranny" in North Georgia/Chattanooga area/Southwestern NC/Northeastern Alabama.

Hope you guys have a safe ride, the weather is good and the scenery is spectacular right now!
