Well we came, we saw and we conquered Julian and it was time to head back to the Pala which meant our time together was coming to an end.

As we rode back on what would be our easiest route I reflected upon our time together and how I wish it would not end.  Great events are created not by chance but by hard work from just a few so that others many enjoy themselves.  I can certainly say Mission Accomplished for me.

There were so many great times and memories.  I look forward to others.

Who could forget this one!

Here is Wrongway and I will leave it to your impression what he was doing here.  A point of interest however is the proof positive that this guy ain’t right.

Check out the reflection in the window of the other side to his face.  Is this a type of Terminator but with three eyes on one side of his face?  Does it only show itself in a reflection?  So many questions with no answers!

What about the hen house?

The Centerfolds!

Hey you can’t take a picture of me I am taking one of you!

Anne…keep up the great work of documenting the behavior of these folks.

The rooster’s room…Hey were are the Roosters?

Here they are…

Check out the Prospect (center guy – aka D31960 [Don]) – Event Planner for next year’s event.

Chapter Five - The Grand Canyon

It was Friday and time to head on but before I could do so I had to make sure Janice could get to the airport.  As we arrived in the parking garage I was surprised to see someone else’s bike all decorated.

The result - moto-michael had his motorsickle decorated courtesy of trapperdog if my intelligence is correct.

Prior to my departure I had to deal with an event that occurred to our rental vehicle.  The vehicle was not start and given the time schedule and self-imposed pressure I responded with the behavior of a nine year old.  WOW!  I am sorry for those of you that were exposed to this act and thankful for your level minds.  All I thought was “this could be a cluster f”.

Thanks to each of you and you know who you are….

Time to pull out the trusty ole US Atlas I purchased at Wal-Mart to review where now?  Let’s see I needed to go East but shall I travel straight over, Northeast, Southeast, what shall I see, experience, deal with…mmm.  It would be here that I saw it on the map, a reminder of something I had not experienced in some time.  I had a number of opportunities in the past while in Las Vegas however never took advantage of them.  To what am I speaking of, yep you got it you great purveyor of knowledge and wisdom or you remembered the chapter title – The Grand Canyon.

As I began to think about this leg of the expedition I thought “how long had it been since I was there?”  It seemed like a lifetime ago and indeed it had been.  I was just a young lad when I made my visit here way back in the day.

I started to ponder some very important questions regarding this potential visit.  “Would the jackasses I rode down into the Canyon still be there and more importantly would they remember ME?”  “Had all of this environmental stuff going on cause the Canyon to now be filled up with dirt and soil?”  “Would the Indians that greeted me now be called Native Americans and be wearing three piece suits?”  “What would be my experience?”

Decision Time!  Plenty of thoughts going through my head.  It would be a no brainer if someone else was here!  What to do?  Vegas v. Needles?  Say that again.  Vegas v. Needles?  Pretty simple right?  Pleasure v. Pain!

It was time to say goodbye to California but you can count of the fact that “I’ll be back!”
