As I departed New Mexico I saw thankful to survie this part of the journey given the uncertain circumstances of this dangerous state.  I would not soon forget this area given it would be in my sense of smell for the remainder of the day!

I was on the telephone with mungam and we were discussing what was going to be his return trip from this event and he mentioned stopping in San Antonio.  That’s when it came to me…”Remember The Alamo!!!!”

It has been almost forty years since I had been here.  There would be nothing that would be here that I would remember with the exception of The Alamo.  Riverwalk, Sea World, Six Flags, Rivercenter, Schlitterbahn and all of the other attractions were in someone’s mind and not on the street.

It was time for me to give some thought as to how I would experience this city and what shall I take in during my layover.  Being a big kid at heart with the Peter Pan syndrome I knew I had to enjoy one of the above parks.

But before I would arrive in San Antonio I had a couple of stops to make.

You can not go through El Paso without a stop at the World Famous Barnett’s H-D

As I was waiting my turn you can see a Boarder Patrol Guard and his dog if you look carefully

Now at this point I was informed that I needed to put the camera away and not take any pictures.  One of the Boarder Patrol came over and asked “Are you a US Citizen?”  I replied “Yes” and he stated “Thank you sir and have a nice day.”  I wondered at that point “what would have occurred if I replied NO?”

As I stated to pull away, the dog started barkling and attempted to come after the motorsickle.  I thought, that’s great now what the #ell !  I continued with little hesitation and went on my way.

At you may know fuel is not abundant in some areas and this was one of them.  I already ran out once and had been keeping an eye on the guage.  At this point I was thinking…NOT AGAIN!  Finally I came upon a station.  I was so out of it I took a picture of the wrong guage!

DAH !
