I like the stock, I probably would have bought a new set of lowers and painted black and keep original's with the bike. How close of a match is the black to your bike. I had a trailer painted to match my bike and the black is about a 90% match.

I like the black.  Kind of makes them disappear into the bike and now all of the bottom of the bike is painted black.  Also, at least now different then the 1000 or so of other ones.  You'll be able to find yours in the parking lot.

Either way the bike looks great.  I voted for the stock color, but if you're happy what else matters?

Too bad HD didn't color match the light bar in the tour pak like the other CVO Ultras.  I've done that twice on my non-CVO EG (one white and later candy apple red pearl) and found it well worth the effort.

They say "Beauty is in the eye of the beholder" and I certainly like my new look of my Duracell, but wondered what all the rest of you CVO experts think?

I have always felt that this new look is the way this bike should have come from the factory in the first place, but glad I have finally got the bike looking the way I want it... AND it has absolutely no red, anywhere!

With all do respect to those with red bikes, I'm not a "red" kind of guy, and just felt that the red parts (as an accent) clashed with the copper on this bike.

Thanks for any and all opinions.  :2vrolijk_21:

Here is the before (stock) lowers...

I kinda like the stock look...but it is YOUR bike. You mention red. I must be color blind...because I don't see any red on that bike.

OK Griz, you got me stumped. Where was the red originally?

Hi Jerry,

As mentioned, I'm not a red guy at all!  To each their own, it's just me.  You have an amazing bike and I noticed that you're partial to red, so this may not seem much to you, but here goes.

I have attached the best photo I could find of a stock '08 CVO Anniversary Ultra to illustrate all the different red parts that I have now successfully rid my bike of...

Gone are:

red tank badge,
red saddle bag latch reflectors,
red brake light,
red TP tail lights,
red TP side lights,
red license plate reflector
and also did away with the orange fork reflectors.

Don't know if you see it or not, I just found the red bits clashed with the copper.

I of course realize that what I've done to my bike won't suit everyone's taste, but it's mine and I love it that much more now that I've got it this way.  AND she still runs great!  Just walked in the door after a nice ride around Lake Simcoe with the wife.

Now if I owned your beautiful bike, I would be loading it up with all kinds of red... I think red lit dash gauges would really set your bike apart from the crowd... Just ask JC & The Mrs. JC!

Just an idea on how to spend someone else's money!!!

Take care & ride safe,
Grizzly

Like both. But I believe the black looks cleaner. IMHO

Now I understand the "Red" comment and I agree it looks much nicer without the Red pieces!

Ahhhh, now I see. The before and after pics cleared things up. Thanks.

Boy...you went through alot to get rid of the red. I have to admit...it looks good. I especilly like the graphic change on the tank. Nice!  :xyxthumbs:

I think that the lowers should have been painted just like all the rest of the tins with the two tone paint and large pin stripe, neither copper or black looks natural.....JMHO
