Chrome rims
« on: June 01, 2010, 01:05:24 PM »

I wash my chrome wheels and have tried various products to protect them. What are you guys using to protect chrome?

Thanks, Jimbob

I had all of my chrome parts chromed so that the second chrome layer actually protects the chrome underneath. That way if the chrome is damaged, it's still chrome. The difficulty comes in polishing both levels. I can get the top level ok but have yet to figure out how to efficiently polish the layer underneath. Now that I think a bit more about your post, I should do something about protecting the second layer of chrome. Perhaps I can get it chromed...

Never dull wadding is excellent for removing spots and making chrome shine.

Wax, wax and more wax! I recommend Collinite's No. 845 Insulator Wax.

x 2 for Never Dull. Easier to use then applying liquids or creams with a towel (and more precise when applying it by the wadding), and great results.

Yeo, god stuff but not on chrome. I would recommend a product made specifically for chrome. Mothers makes one. I just use foaming window cleaner on my chrome.

I use Mothers chrome polish on my chrome, i agree nevr dull is good but DO NOT use on Rinehart pipes, it will remove the chrome, Rineharts are cheap chrome.

Mark, just read of your dilemma there and it worries me greatly.  Have you considered nanites with itty bitty buffing cloths?

Tried the "Scrubbing Bubbles" but they weren"t small enough to get between the chrome layers. Nanites may be small enough to do the trick. Have to give Neo a call.

My bad, I misread. I use the Eagle One Billet polish on the polished aluminum stuff, and Mother's Chrome Polish on the chromed parts.

Not a very well Known product! Thought it was my own little secret.  Easy on easy off leaves a super deep high gloss rock hard finish. Great great product!
