Last year I took the Original seat off the SERG. I've always been partial to Mustang, so I bought one. Lo and behold it was not what I thought it would be. The seat actually sat you up about 1" higher and 1" closer than the original seat. So far be it from me to take this sitting down. I had to take it to a seat shop and have it customized. It came out as good as possible and I used it for a year. Now, this week I have mounted a new Mustang on my scoot. I have some pics of the old seat before and after the mods. And I just took a few of the new seat mounted to the bike. The newer Mustang kinda cradles ya right where ya need it. It also sits an 1 1/4 further back than the original seat and actually the inner thighs of my legs are'nt pushed out like they were with the first Mustang I owned before I had it modified. My feet actually sit flat on the ground.  I don't know when Mustang changed the seat pan for the 09s and the 10s but I'm glad they did. As soon as I saw he new design I snapped it up. I highly recommend the new model seat for any of you Mustang fans.

I hear ya. I never had a Mustang, but always wanted one (they didn't make one for my last bike), so when I recently bought my SERG, I ordered one (2 pc Touring one w/rider backrest), and was a bit let down. I picked up the bike and rode it home 1,300 miles in 4 days (2 up), and after the longer days, I was a bit sore, and thought it didn't leave much room to move around (locked in one position). Being a Corbin fan, I think it's too soft.

So, I just sent it off to Mean City Cycles-it's going to get a firmer memory foam, narrower nose, and I asked for it to be slightly lower and back. I sure hope I'll be happy with it when I get it back, after spending so much on buying it, then having to modify it.

One good thing- my GF likes her seat (the 13" wide pillion), so no mod's necessary for half the seat.

BTW Fuzznuts, I saw your ad, and thought you missed a number in front of that $_75.00.....what a steal for somebody!!

      I too had bought the "other" mustang and haven't liked it since day one.  I don't like being raised up and forward either.  Actually, I like the stock SERG seat but I wanted a backrest and a detachable passenger seat.
 
    Are you saying that this new Mustang moves you back farther than the stock SERG seat, or just back from the other Mustang seat?  I'd like one that seats me back further than the Mustang I have now and lower down than it is--more like the original seat position.
    If you're saying this new one does that I may have to order one too as I was seriously thinking of sending my original Mustang off to be altered.
  Let me know as it sounds like you've found a good  new seat and I think I may want to order one before any long rides this summer.

At Myrtle Beach Bike Week this Spring,  I stopped at the Mustang dealers spot and ended up purchasing their newest seat for my '09 SE Ultra Classic.  It does seem to sit you back a little further and also a tad bit lower(all pluses) to me.

It is much more comfortable and makes the bike more manageable at stops.

Only downside I have noted so far is passenger backrest/armrest is (NOT) user-friendly in fitting onto the front of your Tourpak.  You have to manipulate the outer bolts to get them aligned and then vary how tight you bolt them down.........cause too much puts a "warp" into your tourpak lid and then it does not want to set down properly on the tourpak base.

One other precaution I would offer up.........if you get the same setup I got.  It comes with a rider backrest that has a chromed brkt and adjustment bolt in it.  The damn knurled knob (bolt) turns in its threads tooooooooo easily.   So,  I thought once I found the correct adjustment (for me),  it was not gonna hold because it would vibrate to another position.

So (cleverly),  I applied a couple of drops of lok-tite on it..........DO NOT DO THAT!!!

It did what the name implies,  it locked it up!  Now, I couldn't adjust the damn thing at all.    Finally got it freed up and due to residual lok-tite, it does take more force to move it......so now I'm good to go.
