H.D. York GTG................
« on: June 05, 2010, 10:25:35 AM »

I only took a few pics, but met a few new folks. Tour was a little shorter than last year. No CVO tour. Still done up nice. The production manager and the Union VP  came out and held a private audience with us CVO folks and talked about the plans for there new production facilities. They're saying it should be ready by next year this time. That was very nice of them. After the tour a few of us rode into Baltimore and finally made it to the Landing Strip. I must say everyone was impressed by the quality and quanity of the Crab cakes. Jumbo lump. What I was even more impressed with was the cold frosty mugs with every beer. Mmmmmmmm. Afterwards we took a 30 minute ride up north 95 and got onto JC Carr's route. Rt 222. Thru Port Deposit and over to the Union Hotel. Hung out there for a bit, waiting out a thunder storm. Took everyone over the Conawingo Dam and then back up to rt 222. Great crusing road! Thanks to Twolanerider for putting this together. Thanks to J.Carr for the heads up on what roads to cruise on. We had a great time...........................Like I said, I only have a few pics but I invite eveybody else to post there pics on this thread.

Last but not least, the B'que at the Union. This would get Hogbreaths (Ken's) attention . I took this for him.

Had a good time at the HD Tour....no more seperate CVO Line, every thing is built on the regular production line.

Folks in York HD are struggling...there were a few comments by production folks about JOBS!!!

They are combining the Touring Plant and the Softail Plant, should be complete in 12 - 14 months, will be down to around 850 - 900 employees.

The Production Manager and the Union Gent gave a good presentation.  Thanks to both for meeting with us.

Met some new folks....rode home to Maryland, hit a little rain, but had a great ride.

We got in yesterday around 3pm. We rode about 10 minutes ahead of some rain the entire ride home. We stayed dry but it sure made gas and rest stops interesting. The plant tour was cool but meeting and riding together with everyone was the real highlight of the trip. Angela did snap quite a few pics that will get posted as as we get caught up with a few things.

Twolane rider, thank you for setting up the tour.
I have pictures that I will post later for the group. Fuzznuts thanks for the ride to Landing Strip, Union Hotel and the Dam. Gorgeous roads, excellent food and great group of people. I had a great time.

Twolane rider, thank you for setting up the tour.

Appreciated but not necessary.  You're entirely welcome though.  Just glad that all who made it had a good time.

Hi, It's MikeV's wife Angela. Just wanted to say that it was great meeting everyone. It was a fun adventure and I finally got around to reviewing and posting some of the pictures from the trip:

Group shot outside the York Plant after the tour. This was an impromptu shot so not everyone was on hand.
