Redline Oil for Tranny
« on: June 06, 2010, 10:56:20 AM »

Hit 5k miles and changed some fliuds yesterday. Based on recommendations from many of you...went with Redline 20W-50 in the engine and the Heavy Shockproof in the tranny. All I can say is...you could warn a guy that the Heavy Shockproof is red!!! Jeez, I nearly ?&%* my pants!!!!!!!! Fortunately, a search today verified I used the right stuff. I'm feeling much better now.  ;D

Yes, and if you ever decide to give the "Royal Purple" brand of products a try they are... well.....  :huepfenlol2:

The one oil I'll never use in my bike, however, is the "Havoline 20w50 High Detergent Titty Pink V-Twin Synthetic."  The bike would rebel.

You should find neutral a lot easier to find and B&M trick shift atf in the primary is a good choice

Agreed. That would be wrong.

No doubt the color took me by surprise...also it was somewhat thicker than the H-D 20W-50 that was drained. I only took it for a short test ride so I don't know if there was an improvement in shifting as many report. We shall see.

Not sure if it was the shock proof or the B&M as I did both at the same time but there is a drastic difference :cucumber:

Yep.....BIG difference. That's why I jumped on here and double-checked.
