Sometimes Mike, you got to take a step back to move forward.

 :drink:

It's not hard to get the bike tuned with a TTS... talk to Doc or Steve... they will fall all over themselves to help you. Great bunch of guys.

I've got three bikes on the TTS... will never look back.  :2vrolijk_21:

Agreed, very frustrating for me on this one, and owning a bike like this is supposed to be fun.  I'm at the point of pulling the PCV out and going a different direction, perhaps the TTS.  The blinker needs to get fixed, that's a traffic ticket or an accident waiting to happen.

I'd still not accept with certainty that it's your Power Commander.  Some problem (crushed wires or other damage) in that left switch housing potentially accounts for the sixth gear light, cruise and left turn signal.  If multiple problems exist and one site can reasonably account for all of them I'm looking there first.

I for one would not consider making my decisions based on excuses given to me by obviously incompetent jerks who don't know how to diagnose or trace an intermittent problem.  The fact remains that there are plenty of other people with PCV's on their bike who do not have cruise control issues.  But somehow Badger Mike managed to get two in a row that cause his cruise to fail?  I think the odds of that happening are about the same as the odds of me hitting the Lotto.

The turn signals definitely aren't related to anything in the PCV, so what is their excuse for that one?  Full moon, bad day after drinking all night so they couldn't trace the circuit, lost their meter and forgot how to do a wiggle test, or what?

I tried to track down a wiring diagram for the PCV but haven't had any luck.  I'd be real interested in seeing if the wire from the clutch switch actually connects to any circuit in the PCV, or if it's just a straight pass through like some of the other wires.

Agreed, according to Dyno Jet, it's simply a pass through wire and the PCV should have no affect on the cruise or 6th gear light.  My issue with the dealer is that because I didn't have them put a SERT in, they didn't feel the need to track it down...that is until my last visit ;D

We'll see what this week brings :nervous:

The saga continues, the HD dealer could not find anything on their end, I feel they put a solid effort in to identifying the problem.  They went over all the wiring and switches, ran several different tests, rode the bike over 160 miles with on board diagnostics and still couldn't find the problem when the PCV was not connected.  We all think that this has something to do with the autotune not communicating with the ECM properly.  They even spoke with Dynojet to see if they could help them with the problem, and no luck.  BTW, they covered everything under warranty, a real 180 from my last experience.

The mechanic that put in the PCV is out of town this week, so I'll have to wait to hear what he got back from Dynojet.  I know he was working with them to see what if anything they could tell, but I'm not going to hold out hope.  If I get any answers on this, I'm thinking it's going to come from this group.

When the cruise went off did the rpm's increase?  Mine did.  I could not go over 74 mph in 6th gear and then the clutch would let go.    Tifton Ga put new pressure plates on and everything's OK.  Bike was under warranty so it just cost me $50.  No input in ECM either.

FWIW...... after I had a Thundermax with Autotune installed on my Wide Glide my 6th gear light didn't work either. Asked the dealer to check it out while it was in for something else and they said the Tmax had something to do with it. I forget the exact wording but that was the cause.
