newbie 2007 cvo ultra florida
« on: June 13, 2010, 08:21:37 AM »

I bought a used 2007 ultra back in Oct. I have a bunch of questions, but don't do very well with searching on computers. I've been searching for about 45 min trying to find out what the normal air temp gauge reading should be. Lately I have been running about 110F and sometimes pegged at 120. Any help?

Welcome to the site glad to have you join us and congrats on getting your SEUC. :2vrolijk_21: Due to the placement of the air gauge temperature sensor it picks up a lot of heat from the motor and is inaccurate. Depending on the heat the motor is throwing off, whether you're moving or sitting it could be as much as 10 degrees or higher reading on the gauge.

Welcome from Ocala! Where abouts in Florida are you located? The air temp gauge is pretty useless on these bikes. Some folks change them out with a compass. The 2007 CVO has a compass that matches the gauges that are on there. Which 07 did you get? I used to have a blue one.

Welcome to the site from Alabama, I have found air gage to be very inaccurate.  Does not mean anything to me, it is a hole filler.

Welcome to the site from Long Island, NY.

As for the air gauge--forget it----if you are sweating--it's hot, if you are freezing--it's cold. nuff said.....
