Do we have any soccer freaks here?

USA played well and got a good draw thanks to a fluke goal keeper error by Rob Green the England goalie.  England 1-1 USA

both teams I would expect to progress from this group which also includes Algeria and Slowenia.

Dont you find those VUVESELAS trumpets really annoying?

I get golf and soccer confused.  I know they're each guys chasing a ball around a field to kick it or wack it with a stick; and then do it over again.  And over again.  And over again.  One of them doesn't even end when the game is over.  That confuses me too.  But even though which is which confuses me neither is confusing per se.  That description goes to Cricket (or Junebug or katydid or whatever the hell bug that weird sport is named after).

By the way.  What's the deal with the ball that's been all over the international news the last week or so?  Isn't a soccer ball just a soccer ball?

This is the new CVO soccer ball, its supposed to be the most circular ball ever made!!!

 funny I thought they had been circular for many years, ok the very early leather ball were roundish, made up a hexagonal pieces of leather sewn together......

CVO Ball?  Uh oh, those poor bastards....  It'll look great except for when the color fades, it'll roll fast except for when it leaks or gets too hot to touch and it'll cost $30,000 before being upgraded to include air....

My money goes on Espania to win the WM,

I am still not convinced by all the hype concerning to experienced golden generation English squad coached by Italian Fabio Capello, for all the golden generation hype the goalkeeping position is unclear and there is a lack of prolific goal scorers, Rooney with the right service will score a few, ok midfielders Gerrard and Lampard do score alot of goals for there respective premier league clubs but not when they play together for England, the English defense also dont have there first choice players!

I see the Germans didnt want to spoil the party and let the Serbians win 1-0 to keep the group interesting until the final game, psychological thinking from the master race not wanting to be clear favorites to soon
