Zumo 665 addendum to Spike and Eric's install

So I figgered out after drillin the holes that 665 is differant cable and had to improvise.  Luckily the inner fairing is now ABS plastic and not fiberglass so it cuts and files pretty easy.  That's 2 1/2 holes improved.

here's the hole inside the inner.  I hope I chose the right place.  I thought that between those supports would be ok.

Then put gromet and pookie, used waterproof silicone, used duct tape for the bed and filled the pookie from the top to seal out water.

Thanks for the pic with the winshield bag!!  It's the first one I've seen with both the bag and the mount.  Could you take a few more from the side and top?

With the second stage alterations you had to do to the install is all the cabling and cutting still successfully hidden behind the dash pad?

Yup, can't see a thing not even the scratch i made when the file slipped outta the hole oops.  BTW Two lane (change of subject here)  a while back I think you gave me (us) a tip about puttin 1/4 X 20 all thread in the lower fairing holes to make studs for easy reinstall of outer faring...was that you?  if so I been toyin' with the proper length and I THINK 1" is about right?  I gotta get this thing buttoned back up, but want to do it right.   ;D

When I put the threaded rod in those holes I usually start with 1.125" of rod.  Part of that will screw in to the fairing (I use red loctite there too, don't want it to back out with the nuts).  That'll leave about an inch sticking out.  That works to both get through the hole and makes it easy enough to get a nut started on.

Hmm, that's a cool idea. Just use chrome acorn nuts or something?
