Craig, had to look at it on Mapquest, but yeah, as I remember it, west of the peaks (and before Trail Ridge turns south toward the lakes) was the worst.  Maybe Tommy can confirm when he sess this.  Can't believe they'd still have it torn up like that a year later.  It was pretty nasty in places.

There was a light mist coming down when we went through this stretch, mud, big pot holes and Bill and Anne riding two up trying to miss the holes with a trailer in tow! Well I guess we have no other choice, My brother-in-law is coming out from Florida and wants to ride over Trail Ridge. Last time he came out it was so cold out that we stopped in Estes and had coffee and turned around and rode the lower roads around the foot hills. I'll give him a heads up before we go, thanks again.

Craig....
I was over TRR about the time Brian & Judy were, at one of the half hour stops waiting for the other lane to clear, one of the construction workers brought us bottles of water & told us it would take two more summers to complete
the road work! He said that it could have been done in one summer if they had kept the roads closed....but figured
somebody needed the gate fees. Good luck if you decide to take it! Brian got some great pics considering the concentration it took to get thru the park! I was on the FXR4, so a bike with a wider front tire would be a better
choice.

Sounds like they aren't much farther than they were last year! Thanks for the info, we'll probably still go that way.

Sorry it's been so long since I posted anything about the trip but today is the first day that I've felt close to normal since we got back.  This trip was rough on the old man.  Didn't help that I dropped the bike in Wyoming and screwed my shoulder up and about three days from home I came down with a cold that made the last two days on the road miserable!  Finally got to see my doctor today and got meds for the cold an an x-ray of the shoulder.  Should know results from the x-ray later today.

Even with all that this trip was one of the best ever!  Great weather, great sites and good riding partners!

I agree with Brian, The Grand Tetons were awesome!  Second on my list would be Bear Tooth Highway.  Since Brian is doing a great job posting pics, I'll just put a few of mine up.

First few is my BSR.  And may I add a great one!
