I guess that's how the flames got on my Amber, too.  Only mine was going so fast, it burnt the paint...hence, the "Burnt Amber"   :huepfenlol2:

I can see how you would think that,  but you got the burnt amber from the flames on my Black SECU.  HOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :orange:

Well first welcome to the site from East Tennessee! When I looked at the 09 CVO colors last year on the web, I thought well those are ok. So I thought I would just buy a used UC and paint and upgrade it however I wanted it. THEN it happened, I went into a HD dealer in Dalton to pick up some oil and there it was, up on a spinning turntable with spotlights, the 09 SEUC in Starlight Silver/Twilight Blue. It had so much flake. I knew I would either have to buy one or have one painted like it. At first I did not realize it was a CVO, that just put the cherry on top. So I guess I would have to say I bought because of the color and graphics. The more I thought about it (my wife would say possessed), the more the CVO made sense to me. Saw that bike on a Thursday and when I took my wife there on Sat. They had already sold it. My advice to you would be if you really LOVE the color of the 2010 CVO, go for it, the 1,500 under MSRP is just icing. If you don't love the CVO color wait for the 2011 color release around end of July. There will be plenty of the non CVO bikes around for you to chose from. I probably would have bought the colors that I got even if it had not been a CVO. Good Luck!

If your friend sold the bike after a year of riding it for $1K less than he paid for it, he didn't really lose any money. It just cost him $1K to ride the bike for a year. I think anyone on this forum would be more than happy with a deal like that. If he purchased it, never titled it and stored it for a year and then sold it for $1K less, that would be a $1K loss.

People who think Harleys, Cobras, Porsches or Ferraris are collectors items and only go up in price are frequently mistaken. It's a supply and demand world. Demand makes the price go up, not being told something is rare, limited, or a collectors item.

Well said...if MOCO starts a program to trade up every year for $1k, I'll be the first in line.   :2vrolijk_21:

TO CVO!!!!

Well I did it guys! here is a couple iphone shots of  her sitting on the showroom floor. My new 2010 Spiced Rum FLHXSE! :mango: :orange: :huepfenjump3:

I really had to think because of the price but after thinking about all that was said as to adding all the stuff on this beautiful ride + They made a smoking deal (better than I had previously posted) and threw in new helmets to boot, I figure I'll be ahead in the long run. Also the better half approved and liked it a lot. It was between this and a vivid black 2010. As she pointed out...almost every rider who walked in the shop stopped and took a long look then walked right by all the other bikes. :2vrolijk_21: I wasn't able to ride her home, it needed to have the pre delivery prep done and My garage needs to have a new sleeping spot readied for her. I'll be picking it up new week and can't wait! :cherry:

So if you don't mind, You will be getting lots of dumb questions from a Newbie! This is my first Harley!

Congratulations Good Choice!

The one thing important to me when I purchase is how I will exit. The book value is higher on the CVO as the factory upgrades count. Had you bought the other and added accessories they are near worthless at exit.

The CVO bikes hold a much higher resale as a percentage of purchase than stock models. I see this over and over at the dealer only power sport auctions.

You did good!

I just LOVE the Capt. Morgan, wish the MOCO had done that paint on the Ultra.  Like mine all well and good, like the Black too.  Mine (Burnt Amber) hides the dirt better.  But chit that Capt. Morgan does something to me.
