the filter is paper.you cannot oil it,you throw it away and buy a new 1 like i had to for $50.k&n does not make a replacement because the market is to small.maybe in the future as harley sells more se k&n will start to make a replacement filter fo the 110.

212hjet, Regarding your question about the air filter;Do you have the HD high flow air filter kit? When I went in to purchase the highflow air cleaner kit for my 09 SEUC the parts man at my local dealer told me to piece it together so I could get the chrome breather/backplate kit for just a little more money and  also get a K&N air filter since I purchased all the parts separately. The part no. for the K&N air filter  from my invoice is 1011-1410. (69.95) This might not be the actual K&N part no., number but you can look it up on their web site, or ask your dealer.I think I have posted all the part numbers and the prices somewhere previously on this site, but ou are welcome to PM me if you want a list of the separate parts for the SE High flow air filter set up.CAHDBIKER

Clean the paper element (filter) by soaking and gently stirring in a rather "stout" mix of dawn dish soap and water. Air dry it and re-use. While you have the filter out you might want to clean up the oil inside and the crap behind the backing plate.

First, you need to tell us exactly what air cleaner you have on the bike if you don't want to receive bad information.  Is it the stock air cleaner, the SE Stage I with the round filter, the Ventilator, an aftermarket air cleaner, etc.?

With the stock air cleaner or the SE round filter or the Ventilator, the element is "washable paper".  You do not use K&N or other brand filter cleaners on those, just warm soapy water as Screamin said, rinse, and let dry.  Definitely do not oil the element, it will greatly reduce air flow and probably cause the element to fall apart as well.  At the first opportunity, I recommend throwing the paper element in the trash and getting a K&N replacement.

Does K&N make a replacement filter for the Ventilator?

Not yet.  Go to their web site and let them know you want them to do so.  Plenty of other's have done so already.

if you can afford $32k for a bike you should be able to afford $50 for a new air filter, instead of washing it.mine is the ventilator type that kn does not make yet.and yes i have emailed them about it.

I bought a spare filter for my Stage I air cleaner so I can wash out the dirty one, put it on the shelf to dry, and put in the spare to run.  No need to replace, just do the dish washing liquid method stated above.  I get some oil from the crank vent so I do mine fairly often and wash and rinse in mildly hot water.  Works for me!

Thanks all.  Will do the cleaning for now and look at cad's parts and get something more reasonable going.  Off to the shop to do that and mount my new XM antenna.  What great riding weather.  Hope everyone has at least one special ride going on this summer or fall.  I'm in the process of "shedding" my back seat rider after 30 years....so life could be better.....except when I crawl on my bike!
