Well was packing up for Daytona and noticed a chip out of the paint where one corner of the hinge meets the lid. Check the other side and you can see where its been rubbing and probably going to do the same thing. Called dealer and they never heard of that, but are willing to take a look at it. Anyone know if the hinge is shim or not? Might need to do that for the trip. Still under warranty though so not sure I should mess with it.

 [/quote        [smiley=oops.gif]    Shouldn't do that if adjusted correctly and you don't hyper-extend the latch when opening it.  Not necessary to pull it as far as possible.  But when I'm  [smiley=drink.gif], who knows?  So far mine's ok.  [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif] (just went and checked......har!)  spyder

Same thing happend to my 04 dealer is replacing lid under warranty. But had no answer for a cause or fix.

The spring on my saddlebag latch broke and they replace the latch under warranty.  The new spring is SS.

I have replaced more springs than I can count. Dealer replaced entire latch assm. twice under Warranty, after that I just bought springs and did it myself. A real PIA if you ask me. Poor design, and spring quality..
