« on: June 26, 2010, 07:32:47 PM »

as i started my SERK this afternoon i saw this fall from behind the horn cover and land on the left foot board

next to a quarter for a size comparison about 1/2 the thickness of the quarter its an unfinished part and it feels like it might be aluminum

every time I take something apart there are always left over parts or as I like to call them "Crap That Aint Needed". That looks just like one of those to me  :2vrolijk_21: :2vrolijk_21:

It looks like the washer that goes on the end of the rubber horn mount

An acorn nut...  Seems unlikely the horn would be attached if the nut was unattached...

It's just a regular washer only slightly larger in diameter than the acorn nut on the outboard side of the horn bracket.  If the larger washer that's bonded to the rubber mount came loose it still couldn't have fallen off unless the horn already fell off.  Neal would've noticed that.

Probably....  Not on the Softail the way it shakes.  But on the SERK; yeah, even Neal would've noticed the horn hanging down on the wires....  :huepfenlol2:

Threaded end goes through a welded nut on the bracket. Normal that you feel it stick out the backside.
