What to do with extra Medallion?
« on: June 26, 2010, 10:33:39 PM »

I am in the process of getting the Trailer painted to match my Duracell and I picked up 2 105th Tank emblems off Ebay.
(not cheap)
I was planning to put one on the top of trailer deck and thought I would ask for opinions about putting the other on my bike.

so here it is ......the choices

gas tank cover...

First two options both A-numma-1.  Keep an eye out for one more emblem and do both.  Last option sucks though ??? .

The batwing option really shows off, but really really tacky

not enough around it to just leave it there....

1 vote for tank cover.

The nice thing about tank cover is it does fit well and I hate that plain cover anyway.

and I would get to see it while riding......

(originally bought it for that purpose)  was cheaper than (and easier) getting a 2009 tank cover that was engraved.

(I needed a VIN from a 2009 and needed to turn old part back in, how stupid for a tank cover.)

Tank really was my first choice also.  Assuming the slight contour of the tank emblem matches well with the contour of the fuel door that looks great there.  Looks like it always should have been there.

I could live with the fuel door emblem if it fits well as for the Batwing one looks Like a Goldwing to me.

IMHO.....Would not do any of them.  Add to the trailer all you want but leave them alone.  With that said your bike your taste.

Ah, c'mon.  Jeff has just begun his process of tasteful accessorizing.  For him it is a long term process though.  Can't forget what he accomplished with his last bike.
