Music thru speakers and headset
« on: February 21, 2006, 09:21:45 PM »

In the J&M topic, fxdjerry says "For music it's better to have fairing and headset going at the same time."

No one replied to my post there. What is the config to do this? The config's I've found only play music in one or the other but not both. I have an 06 CUSE. Of course the owners manual also says I have to have the AUX switch on to heat the grips and seats but that's not true.

Don't know about y'all but.. my 06 CUSE has a three position "speaker" rocker switch in that:

forward position = helmet speakers
middle position = fairing speakers
back position w/lite on = both, fairing and helmet speakers

Is yours different? [smiley=confused5.gif]

Yeah, mine is different. The switch works like it says in the manual. I'm at work and don't have the manual right now but as I remember...

one position - everything thru headset (int,cb, music)
second position - music in speaker, headset has int and cb
third position - music and cb in speaker, headset has int

So basically if the speakers are on I'm just switching where the cb is.
I'll ask the dealership if there is an optional wiring. I think from other post you can change stuff like the spot lights also. Like I said in the opening post the manual also says the accesory switch has to be on to operate the heated seat and I think also the grips but my accessory switch doesn't appear to be wired to anything.

When was your bike delivered? Mine was late January. I wonder if there was a change in the spec at some point or maybe one config is a CVO harness and the other a standard Ultra Classic.

Mine delivered Sept 9, 2005.  Just like my previous Ultras - music thru headset or speakers but not both at same time.  Switch forward - everything thru headset; switch in middle - music thru speakers, CB & intercom thru headset; switch back (illuminated) - music & CB thru speakers, intercom thru headset.

My accessory switch does control my heated seat.  Heated grips work independent of accessory switch.

I guess maybe I'll need to buy the Electrical Manual after all. I really really have no desire to get into the wiring on this thing. I hate electrical work more than anything. It's not so much the actual electrical but the packing it so you can close things up.

This is the way mine is set up also and if memory serves my 1999 Ultra was the same.   [smiley=xyxthumbs.gif]
