Agitator Wheels
« on: July 02, 2010, 10:05:58 PM »

I really like the look of the contrast cut HD agitator custom wheels, but the website says they will only fit 09 and up Touring.  I am wanting to put these on a 05 Road King Custom and don't know what the difference is in regards to the wheels.  Thanks for the help ahead of time.

In '09, the touring bikes went to a 180mm rear tire, and a taller front tire.

The '09 rear wheels are much wider, and the fronts are much taller than your bike. The front could probably be changed out fairly easy. But your stock bike will not accomodate the '09 rear wheel.

front tire is not taller, its just a 17" vs the 16" on the older bikes... 130/80x17 vs 130/90x16...
but yes, the rear is a 16x5" vs the older 16x3"... and the axle is different, 25mm on '08+ bikes, vs 1" on the '01-'07 bikes...

Change out the bearings to 1"

Change out the pulley side hub to 3.485"
Run a 1" belt 40024-07

a few more little things and it will fit like a wider fender

Correct, I meant to say the wheel is taller.
