Lyndall Rotors are out!!! I can finally stop my beast!
« on: July 06, 2010, 04:41:23 PM »

Just spoke to Paul at Lyndall and he just got the first production batch of their rotors in!  He said they will run a ton cooler,  lifetime warranty (piss off harley) and less rotational mass.

Personally I have gone thru 3 sets of Harley crap in 12000 miles and have gotten sick and tired of fighting with harley everytime...

They cost $499.00 a disc (they are not stamped stainless,  I beleive composit but I forgot what paul told me)  and he reccomends the Gold Pads (part 7254) @ $59.00

He is giving a forum discount of 10%

I am tossing the idea around and may pop for it!  No pictures on the site yet,  but coming soon.. Give him a call as he really is nice to deal with

I've got 28000 miles and just had my third set of front rotors put on.  Extended warranty paid for this pair.  I would like to have some rotors that last forever, but at $1000 for the pair----wow.  That's a little tough to swallow.  I'm not sure what I'll do when this set warps in another year.

Anybody else going through rotors prematurely?  I just had a set put on the front last week, I have 33K on the bike. It went in for TBW and starter issues but when they test rode it they said it vibrated like crazy and they were way out of spec so they changed them. I rode the bike prior to their test ride and it was as smooth as could be. Can they go that fast?

I am thinking some dealers may be reaching on warranty / service contract work where they can due to the economy and business being slow.  I've know of a couple guys who went in for routine service and were told that something was found that needed to changed out/repaired.  Got to take up the slack somehow.

Traded in a 2006 SEUC last September with 35,000 miles with original pads and rotors still on bike. 2010 SEUC has 9500 with no problems yet. 2006 Fatboy SE with 8000 never any brake problems. Lyndall would have to do something very special to get me to pay $1000.00 for a set of rotors.

I have about 11k on my SERK and Friday I get my 3rd set of Rotors...  I am sick and tired of it.    I cant afford the Lyndall's right now,  but I am putting on their gold pads with the new warranty rotors...

<Thread Creep>

I complained to the dealer at 10K on my 2010 SEUC about a front brake pulse, 1 per wheel rotation, and a high frequency vibration on the rear brake.  Service tech "couldn't feel either".

My 2010 has 1200 miles on it.  It has a high frequency vibration on the rear brake.
The dealer told me harley had never heard of this. Says it normal." Same old story"

I'm very inclined to believe what Ultrafxr said. It makes perfect sense to me.

The new Lyndal Rotors http://lyndallracingbrakes.com/products.htm are not for the 2008 SERK or 2009 SERG front brakes. It looks like these rotors are to replace the standard HD rotors.

20 000 km and on my second set of rotors these things warp if you just glance at em. they are just that flimsy! shame on hd for putting crappy brake parts on these beautiful bikes! >:(
