Oval helmets
« on: July 14, 2010, 03:04:21 PM »

Well, after years of people calling me fat head I was convinced that is the case.  However, I can't find a helmet that doesn't hurt in the same spot, my forehead, after 20 - 30 minutes.  So apparently, I'm not a fat head after all...I'm a long head!  :nixweiss:

Does anyone know of a helmet manufacturer that offers oval sizes?

Dracula,
Same problem here.
I have found that Arai fits this head better than any.
Still needs some modification in the forehead area, buts fits and feels better.
Most helmets, I need a XL, Arai it takes a large with a few mods.

Good luck!

I had my point ground off.  Painful, but much more attractive.  :huepfenjump3:

Thanks for the info guys.  I was leaning toward half helmet (which of course they don't offer), but was also considering open face, or 3/4.  I have a full face Bell now...great for the cold and awesome in the rain, but a little warm in the south Texas summers.

I have the same problem with the sore spot in the top center of my forehead. Oblong disease? I have sanded the area of the helmet styrofoam liner to give a little more headroom. It has worked out pretty good. I hate a full face helmet, and a full face shield blocks all the wind from your face, but they are great in the rain. Scorpion helmets has a new half helmet that has a retractable eyeshield that looks like a winner, if it will cover the oblomg disease. Amdy

You might try the Bell half helmet. It is the most comfortable in the forhead part I have.
