What Cams To Use
« on: July 15, 2010, 04:09:21 PM »

Has anybody done different cams or upgrades? I would like my FLTRSE3 to run like my Street glide does. I put a 103 big bore kit on the Street glide and would like to do something to the 110. I have a 2 into 1 D&D fat cat exhaust so far just waiting to find a cam so i can have it all installed. The main thing i would like is more torque and better throttle response. Haven't decided on a tuner yet.

The cam you own can do all of that off idle to 4K
Get it tuned right and the difference will be felt.

The Fueling 574 cams are great up to 5,400 rpm. :2vrolijk_21:

Bob Wood, is releasing a new grind, August 20th. All the same as a TW-6-6, but it has .555 lift, and 242* duration.
On paper, looks like another good one. :)

I have the 2010 SESG, I installed the Andrews 54 cams with a .030 comectic head gasket...love it! engine clatter is down and the bike has a very smooth pull all the way to the top. I also installed the Fullsac X header pipe and the new Vance and Hines Monster rounds. :2vrolijk_21:

i like long  cams, but they ain't for everyone(and require headwork, increased compression, etc)

i always ask, "do you want instant throttle response at 2500rpm, or hit the rev limiter before it noses over?"

i ran long cams in my '05 flhr (stroked to 103) and liked it

i run longer cams in my fxdse2 and like it even better(but it really bogs if i whack throttle below 3500rpm)

in a stock cvo bike, not wanting to do extensive engine work, i'd choose something like andrews 26 or wood 5
