Question on spacers for Progressive Drop-In kit
« on: July 16, 2010, 02:03:46 PM »

So I am installing a Drop In Progressive kit on my '09 Glide. The kit says use 0.0" spacer. I called progressive to ask, is that a 2" drop with no spacer, or???? The dude I talked to had no clue, told me to try it with one inch of spacer, put it together and see how it sits. Together, apart, together, apart, oh come on.....

Anybody do one of these kits? What size spacer did you use? Also my kit came with NO washers, in the past you put a thin washer between the PVC spacer and spring??? Anybody??

Thanks,

Haven't done one myself, but I was curious when they came out and looked through the literature.  Initially the kit and instructions didn't include preload spacers, then they added some spacers, and now they have reached revision C of the instructions.  If your kit came with the earlier instructions, maybe downloading the current revision level will help.

Which kit are you installing, the standard height or the lowered version?

The latest revision instructions for the standard height kit is here:  http://www.progressivesuspension.com/pdfs/3081-008%20Mono-tube%20cart%20fork%20HD%20FLH-FLT%20Inst.pdf

The instructions for the one or two inch lowered kits is here:  http://www.progressivesuspension.com/pdfs/3081-009%20LOW%20Mono-tube%20cart%20fork%20HD%20FLH-FLT%20Inst.pdf

Hope this helps.

I did, reread my post, the second line says the guy at progressive had no clue. I was stunned when he said he didn't know what spacers to use.

Drop in kit, it's done, thanks. As they told me when I Called progressive, try this, or that, we don't know. I ended up with about 1" spacer, dropped the front end about 1-1/8", which works for me
